On Saturday and Sunday, The Government of Nepal is providing children with vitamin A and worm medicines. The Ministry of Health and Population, which implements a national vitamin A system in cooperation with the state and local authorities, is committed to providing vitamin A and worm medicines to children.
Health volunteers will feed vitamin A and worm medicine to children at the nearest vaccine center. Those who miss Saturday are going to be fed on Sunday. There are more than 40,000 female health volunteers are involved in the Vitamin A program at all local levels.
Kedar Parajuli, head of the health department, said that, "Vitamin A will be given to 27 lakh children at the local level from 6 months to 5 years and Balvita will be given to two lakh children aged upto two years".
