Dasharath Stadium, the only international stadium of Nepal was destructed by devastating earthquake of 2015. It is in the construction work for the South Asian Games (SAG) 2019. No sports activity has been conducted in this stadium after earthquake 2015. The Chinese company, which is repairing the stadium, has said that it will be completed by November 1st. The match is scheduled to be held in December this year.
South Asian games, the biggest sporting of Asia was originally scheduled from February-March 2018. Nepal Football Team skipper Biraj Maharjan is worrying about the delay in construction of Dasharath International Stadium. He further added, we feel uncomfortable while taking part in an international contest without practicing at home (Dasarath Stadium).
More than 80 workers are working daily on rebuilding the stadium. Only seventy percent of construction works are over so far. The officials of National Sports Council (NSC) are confident for the stadium will be ready for 13th South Asian Games 2019. The Chinese company had already extended technical assistance to the rapid construction of the stadium.
